The 10th Anniversary celebrations are almost upon us, and with them, so is the Roulette.
As I expect many players to be receiving a significant injection of Gold Moons in the upcoming period, I got 12 Illustrious Weapon owners together (one for each weapon) to write about their weapon, and what you should consider when purchasing it.
Before we begin, I highly recommend reading my post on Spending Limited Resources, as it partially covers this topic already alongside other important adages you should know.
Game Tips: Spending Limited Resources
You can find Illustrious Weapons in the Gold section of the Trade Moons screen.
Illustrious Weapons are, for all intents and purposes, the last thing you should buy in an element. It is universally accepted that before committing to purchasing one, you should have a strong footing in its element first.
The best way to see an Illustrious Weapon purchase is as a “cherry on top of the cake”. The cake should be a fully functional element and grid. Buying an Illustrious Weapon does not fix your grid.
With that said, having a functional Illustrious Weapon grid as your end goal is a great way to motivate yourself to save and spark missing pieces for an element you really like. So don’t go discounting their possibility just yet even if you’re not established - just don’t hit the Buy button yet!
My other major personal recommendation here is to not purchase without oversight. You are spending essentially a year’s worth of resources on One Weapon - so you best make it count. If you do it without asking anyone whether it’s good for your situation, you risk burning it all for nothing.
At the end of the day, this is a purchase for you. As you’ll see in the weapon recs, the first one I purchased isn’t even one I’d recommend to others. In my opinion, the most important thing is to grab the one that sparks joy, but you should at least be aware of the gameplay ramifications.
Do note that each section is written by a different person, so the writing style will differ a bit.

Priority: [Waste of gold moons tier Low] Strong Points:
- Every 4th skill cast by the team will cause skill damage and a dispel!
- If the enemy has a buff and it is dispelled the same effect occurs as previously stated but the effect heals the party and gives a 10% boost to charge bar.
- 2 turn cooldown cut to MC on ougi is great!
- Provided you can dispel 2x every ougi turn and cast lots of skills you can get into a pretty good sustain loop which is quite strong.
Weak Point:
- Very low uses for this weapon that stands out other than just simply flexing.
- It's a very expensive flex
- Despite this weapon leaning onto HL content, it buffs the enemies multiattack which means you are getting hit harder if you can't dispel it on the same turn. The sustain will not be able to keep up with the damage.
- 4 skills is a lot of skills to cast to proc a dispel
- It's a spear and currently spear isn't a great weapon for HL classes (paladin etc isn't used for current HL stuff)
- outside of the mechanics listed it's just a majesty stat stick.
- constant casting of skills is slow. Having to see the proc of the weapon is also very slow
Q: Should I spend 150 GM on this ? A: no
Longer A: There simply isn't a good use of this weapon currently. Sure you can mess around with it and it is pretty funny when you can manage a bit of a loop for skill casts to proc dispels and such or seeing short cooldowns on asparas /paladin/iatro. In the end you are spending 150gm on a weapon that has no real use as of yet. The idea of the weapon is neat, but it doesn't work currently. If you want to spend 150GM on a fire weapon go get higurashi or just use Lord of Flames and don't spend 150GM TLDR
- buffs boss for at least 1 turn on ougi.
- HL bosses will melt you if you don't have dispels on the ougi turn
- 4 skills is a lot to ask for in fire currently
- it's a spear
I, Dowiet have bought this and played with it so you don't have to consider it.
