That grid core is likely to outperform M3, yes. If your question is “would investing in this make me stronger in this element”, then the answer is yes.

The thing is, I don’t think that’s the question you should be asking.

Why Go Primal?

In my opinion, assuming you’re not a bar farming enjoyer with lots of hours every day to farm them, making a Primal grid is a lot less important than it immediately seems.

Before you consider investing a ton of bars (in your case, 21!!!) into an upgrade, you should ask yourself why it is you want that upgrade, and how much it’s worth.

Once you’ve exhausted the initial free supply from the shop, bars are very hard to come by, so you want to make sure you spend it on something you’ll actually get good mileage of. **

Right now, what is it that you are struggling to do with Magna that upgrading to a 7 Grand grid would solve? If you can’t find an answer to this question, then the investment isn’t worth it, even if in paper it is stronger.

Here’s some examples of things you may want a strong primal grid for:

• Competitive raids, such as those for Gold Brick or Eternity Sand farming (PBHL, Revans, The World, of which Wind is very weak at in the current meta)
• Going hard on that element’s Guild War
• High Difficulty content (Hexa, Faa0) or “older hard difficulty” solos (SUBHL, FaaHL, Bubs, Belial)

Even if you are interested in one or more of these categories, you should still not go in blind. Before committing such an investment, I recommend you look into what setups you’d want to build with the weapons you’re making, and then compare them to what setups you could build with a f2p grid.

In particular, Sette di Spade is still an insane weapon that lets you get away with a lot more in an f2p context. Whether you want to go for that or the premium option is your choice to make based on the content you want to play.

You should also know the opportunity cost of making this upgrade by looking at other primal investments you might be “close” to making where the difference between magna and primal are more noticeable. If you spend your bars on Wind to then not play much Wind, you could’ve spent them instead on another element later down the line you’d get more mileage from.

You might have all the tools and resources on you, but just because you can doesn’t mean you should.
